Papermill was engaged by Victorian not for profit VMCH to conduct an in-depth community consultation process for its $200m retirement living project in Kew. Having lodged plans that were opposed in the years prior, VMCH understood that transparency was key when revealing these latest plans to the community. The engagement strategy involved, a survey on future uses for the 1.6ha parcel of land, a detailed project webpage including an introduction to the project team, design reveal and a timeline outlining the planning process, drop-in sessions during Council advertising, giving residents access to the full project team, various letterbox drops, management of a database and regularly eDM updates, proactive and reactive media planning, and internal communications to keep staff abreast of the project

Following this process, the City of Boroondara supported the plans, commending VMCH for its thorough community consultation. Papermill was subsequently engaged on additional VMCH property projects in Ivanhoe and Wantirna.
